My dream is when laws are in place to protect our traveling education students, when parents and students can make informed decisions and that no family will have to go through horrific despair and many unanswered questions.

A month ago I wrote about this Act; today it is also known as the "Ravi Thackurdeen Safe Students Study Abroad Act''. Ravi Thackurdeen is the son of my sweet friend Ros Thackurdeen.
Ros's son, Ravi died a 100% preventable death on a Study Abroad trip. Many have been raped, mugged, drugged, murdered - Sadly NO ONE REALLY KNOWS HOW MANY.
Study Abroad is federally funded, unregulated and in many schools mandated as a graduation requirement. Schools do not share what happens on prior programs. Knowledge of previous deaths and injuries is the foundation of fatality prevention. With comprehensive and transparent study abroad safety data, patterns can be revealed, and a science-based understanding of prevention achieved.
I signed the petition then and now...This Bill: The Safe Students Study Abroad Act is also called the ``Ravi Thackurdeen Safe Students Study Abroad Act''. Read more below and SUPPORT H.R. 3551 The Safe Student Study Abroad Act by leaving your comments at:
