Few events held in Portugal have an International coverage as wide as ART&TUR Festival.
ART&TUR Festival is, among its peer festivals, one of the most prestigious worldwide. As a member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), a non-governmental organization recognized by the World Tourism Organization, ART&TUR Festival is part of a network of 17 international festivals that annually co-organizes the Festival of Festivals in Vienna, electing the best tourism film worldwide.
This year, the thematic categories in the competition's eleven: Holiday Rentals, Cultural Tourism, Sport and Outdoor Recreation, Ecology and Biodiversity, Hotels and Resorts, Food and Wine, Religious Tourism, Rural Tourism, Human Life & People and Places, Tourism Health and Wellness and Animation Films.
The official selection of the two competitions (national and international) will be announced in September. Winners will be announced on 24 October at Oporto city in the now traditional Roosters Gala. At the moment ART&TUR Festival has 254 competing films from 53 countries, thus bringing into play its international character and its high competitive level.
In addition to encourage the sharing of best practices and successful experiences in the tourism audiovisual promotion, ART&TUR Festival is a landmark in encouraging creativity and innovation. Year after year, ART&TUR Festival has been promoting the image of Portugal in several countries from various continents. Adopting the Portugal Rooster as the trophy to reward the best tourism film talent worldwide, this festival has the unusual potential to take Portugal’s name to all the corners of the world.
In parallel with ART&TUR Festival, also occurs the International Conference on Cinema and Tourism, with the participation of national and international renowned experts.
The recent attribution of High Patronage to ART&TUR Festival by the President of the Portuguese Republic, the presentation of this event as case study in international scientific conferences as well as the several articles which have been dedicated in international magazines, are some of the many expressions of appreciation given to this event.
